About Her
Annie Jacobsen is a glass artist based in Asheville, North Carolina, and the founder of Her Glassworks—a woman-owned and operated business rooted in sustainability. Originally from Richmond, Virginia, she studied glass at Virginia Commonwealth University, focusing on flameworking, kiln-casting, and glassblowing. After assisting at the Chrysler Museum Glass Studio and earning a scholarship to Penland School of Crafts, Annie was drawn to the creative spirit of Western North Carolina. Since 2019, she has worked full-time as a glass artist, creating pieces that reflect her love for the medium and her commitment to environmentally conscious practices. Annie rents hot shop time at the Jackson County Green Energy Park—where landfill gas powers the furnace—and also works from her home flameworking studio in Asheville.
